Anyolite
Anyolite is a rock that is metamorphic of granular masses of bright green Chrome Zoisite with dark green to black Pargasite and/or minor black Tschermakite and containing red crystals of Ruby which may be up to several centimetres across. Anyolite is known as from the Maasai word “Anyole” meaning green in allusion towards the bright Chrome that is green Zoisite. Anyolite was reported through the Mundarara Mine, Arusha Region, Tanzania in 1954. The mine is known as after the Maasai that is nearby village Madara, which is located about 27 km western of Longido, and about 100km north-west of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The Maasai can be a group that is cultural of people inhabiting southern Kenya and northern Tanzania. Anyolite has also been discovered now during the Ruby occurrence, Muriatata Hills, Longido, Mt. Kilimanjaro, Kilimanjaro Area, Tanzania.
