Bowlerite
Bowlerite is created from the coverstock, or outter shell, of bowling balls. There are two main basic types of bowling balls currently being used: polyurethane, or “urethane”, and polyester, or “plastic”. Polyester may be the most type that is common to make Bowlerite cabochons. Polyester Bowlerite is translucent, lightweight and chatoyant. It can be quite soft and can quickly be scratched but scratches is buffed out easily by hand. Despite its softness its extremely durable and tough. Bowlerite is available in many colors, shapes and sizes.
