Chromian Titanite

Chromian Titanite, also known as Chrome Titanite or Chrome Sphene, may be the chromium (Cr) rich selection of Titanite. The chromium causes this variety to be colored intensly, vivid green. Titanite is usually colorless, brown, pale to medium green, yellow, black colored or rose-red. Green Titanite isn’t normally as intensly or vividly green as Chromian Titanite. Crystals are beautiful and faceted gems are spectacular with extreme dispersion, quite high birefringence and intense color that is green.

The origin that is main of Titanite is the Saranovskii Mine, Saranovskaya Village, Gornozavodskii area, Permskaya Oblast’, Middle Urals Region, Russia. Connected minerals as of this locality include Calcite, Chlorite Group minerals, and Millerite. There are some deep green Titanite crystals coming out of the Haramosh Mts., Skardu District, Baltistan, Gilgit-Baltistan (north Areas), Pakistan but these are perhaps not Chromian Titanite in addition they are not nearly as vividly colored.
